Asst Prof Jared C.Wilson on "law" "doing", "pride" and "gospel"

Updated: Feb 18, 2022

Assistant Professor Jared C. Wilson is Assistant Professor at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and regular The Gospel Coalition (TGC) blogger.

So does he "tire of this exhausting message" from Jesus?

He thinks "It pets our pride just right." But...

We should imitate Paul and be proud of our good works accomplished by Christ.

There is another problem about his statement: "Try harder, do more, be better. You'd think evangelicals would tire of this exhausting message..."

We need to try harder, do more, be better THROUGH CHRIST. Or else, we will not be saved.

Why? Because Christ judges according to works. If a Christian is doing what is right, he will enjoy eternal life and inherit the Kingdom of God. If a "Christian" is doing what is evil, sinning away and refusing to repent, he will be cast into the lake of fire for eternal punishment.
