Homosexuality and heterosexual adultery are both forms of sexual immorality.
Both are unacceptable.
Repentance from both are required.

Eph5: 5 For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Anointed-One and God.
When Paul wrote "everyone who is sexually immoral", he meant everyone: gays, lesbians, heterosexual adulterers etc... Every form of sexual immorality is included in "everyone who is sexually immoral".
The punishment is: no inheritance in the kingdom of Anointed-One and God.
Meaning: The sexually immoral will not be found in heaven or in the new heavens and new earth.
6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
Tons of empty words have poured forth from Protestant professors and pastors to excuse unrepentant heterosexual adultery.
John Piper, This Momentary Marriage, 2009, page 171, Crossway:
There are marriages in the church I serve that are second marriages for one or both partners, which, in my view, should not have happened but are today godly marriages - marriages that are clean and holy, and in which forgiven, justified husbands and wives please God by the way they relate to each other. As forgiven, cleansed, Spirit-led followers of Jesus, they are not committing adultery in their marriages. These marriages began as they should not have but have become holy.
John Piper's argument has set up a very slippery slope.
Why can't someone say: There are marriages in the church I serve that are same-sex-marriages, which, in my view, should not have happened but are today godly marriages - marriages that are clean and holy, and in which forgiven, justified husbands and husbands, wives and wives, please God by the way they relate to each other. As forgiven, cleansed, Spirit-led followers of Jesus, they are not committing sinful homosexuality in their marriages. These marriages began as they should not have but have become holy.
John Piper will never make this statement in red font. But his logic, when taken to its logical end, allows for the redefinition of sexual immorality into something that has "become holy". No need to repent and stop doing those sexually immoral acts.
Anyone who wishes to escape God's wrath in the lake of fire will repent from every form of sexual immorality.
Those who refuse to repent will face God's wrath alongside the sons of disobedience. After all, a "Christian" who keeps disobeying God's word and Jesus' commands is in truth, a son of disobedience.
7 Therefore do not become partners with them;
True Christians do not partner the sexually immoral sons of disobedience and do as they do.
Why?
8 for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Master.
Darkness was our old identity.
Light is our new identity. For those who are in the Master.
So if you are known as light, then live like it.
Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), 10 and try to discern what is pleasing to the Master.

How? By carefully testing all teachings against the Scripture.
Test what you have heard on "remarriage" against the Scripture.

11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.
Of course we must not take part in the unfruitful works of darkness.
But it is not enough for us to personally refrain from committing sexual immorality.
We must expose the works of darkness for what they TRULY are.
Whether it be homosexuality or heterosexual adulterous "remarriages", we need to expose the truth about them: They are BOTH forms of sexual immorality which will cause people to lose their inheritance in the Kingdom of the Anointed-One and God.
12 For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. 13 But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, 14 for anything that becomes visible is light.
So let the children of light speak the TRUTH in love. Don't cover up lies by speaking nice, soft, flattery, people-pleasing words and call that "speaking the truth in love". That's speaking lies in hatred.
If you tell someone that he/she can continue practicing homosexuality or continue living in an adulterous "remarriage", you are not "speaking the truth in love". You are speaking lies in hatred. You are ensuring that such people will happily sin their way into the lake of fire with your false assurances of salvation ringing in their ears.
Expose darkness by the light of Scripture. Let sexual immorality be recognised as sexual immorality. Make it clear and visible. Call a spade a spade. This will help the true children of light repent from these sins so that they may inherit the Kingdom of the Anointed-One and God.
Remember this sobering warning from Rev21v8: But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.
All who refuse to repent from ANY form of sexual immorality will inherit the lake of fire.
ALL who speak empty words and deceive people into thinking that homosexuality or heterosexual "remarriages" are acceptable will be counted among all liars, (whose) portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.
