Do not permit women elders/teachers of men. Permit women deacons & headcovered prophetesses.

Updated: May 2, 2022

We must not permit what God forbids. We must not forbid what God permits.

God does not permit women to teach men or exercise authority over men.

1Tim2v11-12: Let a woman learn in quietness, in all submission. 12 But to teach, I am not permitting a woman, nor to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to be in quietness.

But God permits women to serve as deacons / Servants (capital S) of the congregation.

This is the criteria for women Servants of the congregation:

1Tim3v11: Women likewise must be dignified, not devils, but sober-minded, faithful in all things.

Godly women who meet the criteria in 1Tim3v11 must be allowed to serve as Servants of the congregation like Phoebe did for her congregation.

Rom16v1-2: 1 I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a Servant of the church at Cenchreae, 2 that you may welcome her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints, and help her in whatever she may need from you, for she has been a patron of many and of myself as well.

Also, a long-haired woman who has her head covered with a piece of cloth like a shawl must be allowed to pray or prophesy in the congregation. As long as she keeps long hair, she doesn't disgrace herself. As long as she covers her head with a shawl while praying or prophesying, she honours Christian man who is her authoritative head.

1Cor11: 5 But every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered is dishonouring her head, for it is one and the same as her head having been shaven. 6 For if a woman does not have her head covered, then she should cut her hair short. But if it is disgraceful for a woman to cut her hair short or to have her head shaven, be covered.

...

13 Judge for yourselves: is it proper for an uncovered woman to pray to God?14 Is not nature itself teaching you-all that if a man indeed has long hair it is a disgrace to him?15 But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her? Because the long hair has been given to her for a shawl.

But a woman is not permitted to judge how the congregation should apply any given prophecy. That's the men's responsibility.

Again: We must not permit what God forbids. We must not forbid what God permits.
